Design patent law

The design patent protects your design. The GRAU Rechtsanwälte PartGmbB handles the registration of national design patents (German Patent and Trademark Office), as well as community design patents (Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market), including international design patents through the World Intellectual Property Organization and individual international registrations, in conjunction with correspondent law firms worldwide. Therefore, the search of registered and unregistered design patents remains necessary and is offered in our portfolio of services.

We offer you national representation concerning design patent matters before all courts, i.e. the Federal Patent Court, and jointly with locally admitted attorneys before the German Federal Supreme Court. In addition, we offer extrajudicial support in questions, which could arise concerning design patents, such as warnings, delimitation agreements, including license contracts. We also offer management of your design patents, and represent you in criminal and customs proceedings relating to the infringement of design patents.

We will accompany you at trade fairs, effectuate strategies against counterfeiters and defend you in cases against initiatives resulting from foreign industrial property rights.
